The demand for English language education in China has been increasing year after year, with the country's ongoing rapid economic development this demand is expected to only increase in the future. There are now an estimated 40,000 organisations or companies offering private English classes in China. The market has nearly doubled in size in the last five years and is now worth around $4.5 billion. A surging demand for learning the English language in China has turned the export-intensive country into an importer of ESL (English as a Second Language) teachers, creating thousands of potential jobs for recent graduates, or for somebody who is looking for something "different" to do later in life.
